New mother Mariah Carey takes a break from diaper duty

Since having her twins Monroe and Morocco in April this year, busy new mother Mariah Carey has hardly had the time to be out and about. But the 41-year-old singer took a night off diaper duty on Thursday night. The mother-of-two was glowing as she put on her finest for a girls' night out at Juliet Supperclub in New York City.
Dressed in a copper strapless maxi-dress, Mariah showed off her post-pregnancy curves. She paired the look with a comfortable crochet cardigan and strings of jewels around her neck. Clearly in good spirits, the Butterfly singer beamed as she caught up with her friends.
According to reports, Mariah's friends enjoyed a bottle of Angel champagne that was delivered to the group. The fine drop is possibly one of the worlds most exclusive champagnes - with each bottle starts at $1600.
Mariah gave birth to her twins on April 30 at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles with her husband Nick Cannon by her side. Baby girl Monroe was born first, weighing 5lbs 3oz and was 18 inches long; her brother Morocco was next, at 5lbs 6oz and was 19 inches. The next day Mariah and her husband Nick Cannon celebrated the new arrivals by renewing their wedding vows in hospital.
Meanwhile new mother Mariah could soon have a new gig - hired by Simon Cowell for X-Factor. The superstar singer was already rumoured to be initially joining the U.S. edition of the hit talent show as a mentor for an episode or two. But now Simon has confirmed that she is in talks for a more major role - even telling Cowell she wants to be "the judge of the judges".
"I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows. I met her recently and she was on great form," the music mogul said. "And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with." The new role would be the first time the format has changed in the seven year history of the show.
A source told Entertainment Weekly: "Mariah and Simon are great friends, and now she has had her babies, it's very possible that she will be involved some way in the show. She has always said she wanted to work with the show, so it's something they will certainly be discussing ideas for soon."
The U.S. version of The X Factor premières on September 21. Simon is set to appear on the show along with judges Nicole Scherzinger, LA Reid and Paula Abdul.
