The sultan of schwing

It's amazing how many celebrity guests will attend your birthday party if you're the Sultan of Brunei's son. Prince Azim's fantasy wish-list of film, music and fashion sirens were all present and dressed to the nines at his lavish 30th bash in London last night.
And the minted royal appears to have a soft spot for busty older women, spending much of the occasion chatting to dress-stretchers Mariah Carey and Pamela Anderson. Other over-40s sirens on his guest list at the swanky Dorchester hotel event included Marisa Tomei, Faye Dunaway, Raquel Welch, Stephanie Beacham and Jerry Hall, who was joined by her daughter Elizabeth Jagger.
Prince Azim mingled with his A-list pals and enjoyed cuddles with singing legend Dionne Warwick and former Baywatch beauty Anderson, who presented him with a birthday present. The third in line to succeed the throne of Brunei is famous for his extravagant shindigs. In 2009 he threw a do dubbed the "party of the year", spending £70,000 on flowers, to see in his 27th birthday. In the past he's partied with Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Scarlett Johansson.
Aside from his luxuriant lifestyle, Prince Azim is well known for filling his time with charity work - predominantly helping with handicapped societies. He is also a patron of the UK's Make A Wish Foundation and even walked the catwalk for Naomi Campbell's Fashion For Relief fundraiser in 2007.
However, last night was all about basking in his own impressive pulling power - and his chosen ladies lapped up the prince's attention. Wearing a black suit, red tie and, oddly, one fingerless leather glove, Azim cosied up to Carey and Dunaway on a leather sofa and stood up when Anderson made a speech. The busty blonde was on trademark form, flaunting her legs and most of her augmented assets in a revealing frock.
Rather than a goody bag worth thousands, singer Carey left the bash holding a furry toy sheep. The Hero star - clad in a figure-hugging shiny gown - was reportedly flown to London by Prince Azim in a private jet especially for the party. And she took advantage of her fleeting visit to the UK, meeting with a film producer yesterday discuss her new movie role. Who says you can't mix business with pleasure?

Bosom buddies

Mariah Carey seems to have found a new bosom buddy on her recent jaunt to London - in the form of Pamela Anderson. The songstress was on hand to celebrate the 30th birthday of Prince Haji Abdul Azim of Brunei on Monday night when she struck up a conversation with the blonde bombshell.
Together the pair won the full attention of the young royal at a star-studded event that saw an celebrities including Faye Dunaway, Jerry Hall, Raquel Welch and Marisa Tomei rubbing shoulders. Celebrities clamoured around the second born prince of the billionaire Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah to wish him a happy early birthday at The Dorchester hotel in London.
Prince Azim, as he's known in close circles, will mark his 30th birthday on July 29. But it was Mariah and Pam who seemed to hold his attention - Pam, handing the Brunei royal what appeared to be a birthday gift, and even standing up for what appeared to be a serenade during the celebration.
Huddled together in the centre of the room, the trio seemed to enjoy each other's company immensely, trading laughs and swapping stories during their glitzy evening out. Pam, 44, chose a figure-hugging halter dress for the occasion, showcasing her ample cleavage and toned legs. Mariah, 42, went for a clingy wet-look dress that flattered her curves and her honey-blonde locks.

Prince Azim, who has famously thrown lavish parties with star-studded guest lists, is no stranger to mingling with the rich and famous. He splashed out on an extravagant party in 2009 for his 27th birthday bash, which boasted a guest list including Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Sophia Loren and Faye Dunaway. The Prince also struck up a friendship with British reality TV star Jade Goody, before her death in 2009. The unlikely pair became such close friends that he bestowed a string of gifts on the former reality star, including a diamond ring believed to be worth £3million.

Mariah Carey steps out in bold coat as she teases fans

It's been three long years since fans have been treated to an album release from songs from Mariah Carey. But the vocal powerhouse has been teasing fans with info on her latest musical offerings. The 42-year-old stepped out in London today in a bold red mac as she arrived at the Dorchester hotel.
Despite her long trans-Atlantic flight, Mariah looked fresh-faced and beamed for cameras and fans. Her bright jacket boasted a tulip hemline at the bottom and she only the bottom of her tight black dress could be seen.
Earlier this month she tweeted: "So... summer 2012. Been in the lab, mixing up some concoctions for you, hope you like it." And then yesterday she posted: "Still working in the studio with friends o plenty. I love love this new song."
Mariah has been concentrating on being mother to her twins Moroccan and Monroe in the past year since their birth in April 2011. But despite juggling being a mother and a wife to Nick Cannon, Mariah hasn't strayed far from music. Last October the singer collaborated with Justin Bieber to re-release All I Want For Christmas.

Mariah Carey puts on a showy arrival for her fans

After a long plane trip across the pond, many celebrities travelling from the States to the UK prefer to quickly dash into their hotel upon their arrival in order to spruce themselves up, and probably to have a good sleep as well.
Not Mariah Carey though; instead of shying away from fan/press attention when she arrived in the capital a short time ago Mazzah did plenty of showbiz style waves and poses to the crowd as she made her way into her hotel room. Let's be honest, did we expect anything less of Mariah? No we didn't.
Apparently the singer is meeting a film producer while in London but for "one day only" (it's all a bit cryptic really). We should imagine however that during her brief trip here she'll be putting on plenty more showy displays such as this one. Victoria Beckham could probably learn a thing a two from this woman.

Mariah Carey dies? No, singer killed off by Twitter hoax

Don't you worry, lambs: Mariah Carey is alive and well. On Tuesday, the 42-year-old singer was the victim of a death hoax thanks to a slew of prank Twitter messages. In tweets attributed to BET, TMZ, CNN TV and other outlets, Carey was incorrectly said to have been "found dead". (According to Gossip Cop, the users who began falsely quoting these outlets have been deactivated.)
Fortunately, the wife and mama is A-OK. She plugged her upcoming new music on Twitter Tuesday night and even tweeted back to a few fans. We're definitely glad this diva is perfectly fine. As for the trolls who keep creating death hoaxes? Guys, come on: Time for a new hobby.

Nick Cannon: twins are taking their first steps

While his wife Mariah Carey has been photographed vacationing in Capri, Monaco and Morocco with their 13-month old twins Moroccan and Monroe, Nick Cannon stuck around to take the reins behind the camera - directing his first feature film. But, he admits, it's very hard being away from his family, especially now that the twins have recently taken their first steps.
"I try to not go seven days without seeing them. I'll be with them this weekend," Cannon, 31, tells People from the Norwalk, Calif., movie set of School Dance, a coming-of-age comedy that he co-wrote and is also producing. "They are taking steps and figuring it out, but I wouldn't say they are walking yet," he says. "I thought walking was, like, one day you stand and then you just start walking. I didn't know it was a process. There's a lot of falling. They take a few steps and then fall and go right back to crawling."
So which twin will master their unassisted waddle first? It's either's game, says Dad. "Roc can balance himself a lot better. He can stand and bounce without falling for a long time. But Monroe takes more steps than he does."
Happily, after battling kidney failure, blood clots and autoimmune disease, Cannon's health is back on track. "The doctor says I am cured," says the America's Got Talent host. His new diet, which required him to cut out fried and processed foods, along with proper rest and a 30-45 minute daily boxing workout, is pumping him with much needed energy - to chase his twins around the house.
Not that it's been easy adhering to his diet. "I had some salt 'n vinegar chips for the first time a week ago," he admits. "I was like, 'Man, these things have never tasted so good.' " Still, he's stayed pretty disciplined thanks to his wife, whom Cannon calls Dr. Carey. "She made sure I was eating what I was supposed to be eating, not overdoing it, resting, and following the doctors' orders."
Even so, there is one order he still refuses to follow. Carey wishes he'd stop boxing. "It's still a big secret," he says kiddingly about getting back into the ring. "Don't tell her."
