Mariah lights up the NYC's Empire State Building!

She just can't help herself. Never one to blend into the background, Mariah Carey tried to upstage one of
New York's most well loved landmarks on Thursday. Pouring herself into a tight white gown, the 43-year-old slinked her way through the Empire State Building.

The pop star was tasked with the very important job of turning the famous monument's specially designed lights on for Valentine's Day. Joined by three lucky couples that have been chosen to tie the knot on the year's most romantic day, it looked as though the Hero singer had her eye on another wedding to husband Nick Cannon.

Putting her trademark curves front and centre, Mariah squeezed herself into the full length, long sleeved white gown, which she wore with matching opera gloves and a fur stole around her shoulders. So tight was the dress, that every move the star made threatened to become a wardrobe malfunction, with her more than ample bust coming close to spilling out.

Flicking the switch, the mother of two - twins Moroccan and Monroe - beamed as lighting the 1,454 feet tall building has a very special meaning to the star. When husband of almost six years Nick Cannon proposed to Mariah, he used her favourite building to help him.

When the pop star made history for having the most number one hits, the Empire State recognised it by lighting the building up her favourite colour - pink - to celebrate, so Nick told Oprah Winfrey he seized the moment. He told the talk show host: "I was like, 'Okay, we need to celebrate that on the roof at the apartment,' so I had all these pink and lavender balloons."

"I opened up a Ring Pop first and then I give her one, and she was like, 'It feels like mine is broken,' I was just like, 'Let's just open it. It's a festive moment,' and she opened it and her ring was in there." If her white dress is anything to go by, perhaps Mariah is hoping to renew her vows alongside the winning couples on Valentine's Day.
