She's been sporting a rather fetching sling since dislocating her shoulder while shooting a new music video
last month. But Mariah Carey offered a welcome distraction from her arm accessory as she strutted her stuff in a plunging minidress while attending a press conference for her latest movie, The Butler, at New York's exclusive Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Monday afternoon.
Showing off her toned and tanned pins and ample cleavage in the daring LBD, the 43-year-old singer ensured all eyes were well and truly on her showstopping curves as she arrived at the event. Featuring unusual lace sleeves, the striking dress was a sexy, yet sophisticated, look for the star, who was joining the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Lenny Kravitz and James Marsden at the event.
The mother-of-two teamed her chic LBD with a pair of mesh-detail stilettos by Christian Louboutin, while wearing her honey blonde locks swept to the side in a cascade of tumbling curls. Posting a "selfie" on her Twitter and Instagram pages before heading out for the day, she said: "On my way to see Lee Daniels at the press conference for The Butler."
The Hero hitmaker sustained her dislocated shoulder last month during a shoot for a remix of her track Beautiful, directed by her husband Nick Cannon, when she slipped in high heels from a raised platform. Nick told Extra: "It is a severe injury, she still has nerve damage, she can't really move her arm right now. She can't really hold anything yet, that's going to take a while... lots of physical therapy."
Directed by Lee Daniels, The Butler is produced by Harvey Weinstein and stars chat show host Oprah Winfrey as the female lead. The film is based on a book written by Eugene Allen, an African American butler who worked in the White House during eight presidencies, including that of Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Reagan and Nixon.
Academy Award-winner Forrest Whitaker takes on the titular role alongside the likes of Winfrey, Jane Fonda, Alan Rickman, Robin Williams, James Marsden and John Cusack. Other noteworthy cast members include Vanessa Redgrave, Alex Pettyfer and Lenny Kravitz.
