Mariah Carey Mania Rules Top 10

Adele's album 21 continues to set chart records, months after its release. Currently, the disc stands at #3 on the Billboard album chart, and it's never been out of the top five since it was released 39 weeks ago. That's a record: in the 55-year history of the chart, no other album has spent that many weeks in the top five since Michael Jackson's Bad, which did it for 38 straight weeks starting in September of 1987.

Elsewhere on the chart, Michael Buble's album Christmas holds at #2, and has a good shot at reaching #1 next week because of increasing sales week to week. Andrea Bocelli's Concerto: One Night in Central Park, featuring guest appearances by Tony Bennett and Celine Dion, debuts at number four, and Glee, the Music: The Christmas Album debuts at #6.

Billboard points out that there are now three, count 'em, three albums in the top 10 that feature a version of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You." It's on Michael Buble's album, the Glee album and on Justin Bieber's Under the Mistletoe, which is currently at #5. That means a very Merry Christmas for Mariah when it comes to royalty checks.
