Mariah Carey has a Valentine's Day treat for her fans: she'll appear on The View next Wednesday.
The superstar singer will pop up on the ABC chatfest to promote a new single, "Be Mine." A rep for the
singer says "Be Mine" is from her upcoming album, The Art of Letting Go, which still doesn't have a release date.
Mariah had previously promised some sort of announcement on Valentine's Day, though perhaps she's doing it early on The View because she's busy on that day. Mariah Carey Exclusive: Album is Coming Late Spring, Almost Done
Mariah Carey’s album from 2012? It’s almost done, she tells me. We ran into each other on the SAG Awards red carpet, where Mariah took no prisoners along with hubby Nick Cannon. It was great to see them.
So what’s happening? Mariah says she’s planning a big announcement on February 14th for Valentine’s Day. Maybe another single is dropping? When is the album coming out? “Spring, late spring,” she said. “This quarter.” April? She’s been sequencing the tracks.
But get this– she’s also recording two “covers”– other songs, older hits. She would not fess up the titles. But Mariah did have big hits with the Jackson 5′s “I’ll Be There” and Harry Nilsson’s “Without You.”
Mariah was at the SAGs, of course, as part of the cast of “The Butler.”

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon cover Ebony magazine February 2014. Mrs. Cannon revealed the snapshot on her official Facebook fan page on Tuesday evening. "The power couple talks about love, dembabies and of course new music by Mariah!" reads the caption.
On Valentine's Day, Mariah will release a new single from her forthcoming studio album The Art Of Letting Go, which will tentatively be released in spring. Mariah and Nick, both donning red ensembles, look great on the cover of Ebony, shown above. The issue hits newsstands this month.

Lambz'R'us Recipe: Festive "MC" Christmas Cocoa
Ingredients:
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup white sugar
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup boiling water
3 1/2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup half-and-half cream
*Festive splash of Butterscotch Schnapps (Optional)
*Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish
Directions:
Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature

Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch will host the ceremony, which also includes holiday performances by The Avett Brothers, Grammy award-winning violinist Joshua Bell, acclaimed soprano and musical ambassador Renée Fleming, multicultural operatic trio Forte, Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, singer/songwriter Janelle Monáe, Latin music superstar Prince Royce, jazz legend Arturo Sandoval, the multiplatinum, Grammy-winning band Train, and Nolan Williams, Jr. and Voices of Inspiration.
