WBLI's Jayson Takes Mariah Carey's Valentine Advice
COX MEDIA GROUP Top 40 WBLI/LONG ISLAND's morning co-host JAYSON took MARIAH
CAREY's advice to him very much to heart on Valentine's Day.
Despite being away from her hubby for the most romantic day of the year, MARIAH told morning team DANA and JAYSON, "I'm still rocking the lingerie ensembles for this Valentine's Day!"
JAYSON lamented that he would be spending the holiday away from his long-time boyfriend, to which MARIAH advised, "All of us who have our significant others somewhere else -- even if you just take a selfie and post it -- I mean just look GOOD."
The 3 of them discussed everything from what NICK did for MARIAH for Valentine's Day, whether or not she does anything special for him despite the holiday being all about her, and she also gave some valuable advice that applies to all "endowed" ladies.
If you missed DANA and JAYSON's Valentine's chat with MARIAH, check it out here.

MARIAH CAREY LIGHTS UP THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING FOR VALENTINE’S DAY
On Valentine’s Day Eve, Mariah Carey lit up the Empire State Building in pink and lavender (her signature
colors), in honor of their Valentine’s Day event “Love Above All.”
At the event, she showed her own true diva colors by making crews wait 5 hours for her big appearance. But to be fair, there was a giant blizzard taking over New York City, so the fact that Mimi showed up at all was positively surprising.
When she did arrive, she made a grand entrance of course. She dressed the part of a fabulous snow queen, wearing a floor-length white gown with her shoulders draped in white fur and full-sleeved white gloves.
For the event, three lucky couples were chosen to exchange wedding vows at The Empire State Building with Mariah in attendance. (No pressure, Mariah Carey’s just standing by, watching you take the biggest step of your entire life.)
Addressing the crowd before the event, Mimi said, “We all love a snowy morning in New York for Valentine’s Day. We were hoping for a little more sunshine, but you’re gonna have to bring it from within. I’m here to push these couples’ love eternal.” A magical, eternal love push from Mariah… how lucky for these newlyweds! She continued, “They wanted me to get ordained and marry these couples, but I just couldn’t go that far.”
Mariah also just dropped a new song, “You’re Mine (Eternal)” on Valentine’s Day Eve Eve for all the lovers out there; a touching and safe love song that stays true to the classic Mariah tunes of latter years.
She told REVOLT it was important for her to stay true to her own time-honored sound, saying, “I personally don’t like to follow trends unless its something that’s organic and feels right for me. So it’s like we all want to have success but you have to bring yourself into whatever you’re doing.”
“If you mute the vocal it could be a rap record,” she added. “For me it’s always been very important that the basic aspect of the song has to be strong enough that it can stand alone.”
She co-wrote and co-produced the song along with hit maker Rodney Jerkins. Mariah said of Jenkins, “What’s exciting about it is, yes, it’s the first time that I’ve worked with Rodney in a while. And we did one of my favorite songs on the re-release of The Emancipation of Mimi, so it was really exciting to get back in the studio with Rodney because he’s a music lover as well. And we were kind of on the same page with this record.”
Mariah Carey shot the music video mostly topless (with strategic arm placement) in the rain forests of Puerto Rico. She admits it’s “one of my favorite places in the world. That’s where I shot the video for ‘Honey’ with Paul Hunter a couple years back, but still one of my favorites, probably the best time I ever had making a video ever, ever in my life.”

“YOU’RE MINE (ETERNAL)” – REMIX FEAT. TREY SONGZ LYRICS
Remix feat. Trey Songz
You made me feel
Our love would never end
How can I forget
Baby, we were the best
I suffer dreams of you all through the night
Baby I can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
Oh, you got me feelin’ some type of way
Ain’t no you without me, hope you feel the same
‘Cause if there’s no you, there’s no me, ain’t no us, ain’t no we
That just can’t be, don’t you see
Mariah, Trigga in Miami
I can’t seem to live without your love
Suffocating here by myself, dying for your touch
Springtime eyes that get you every time
And I just can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
You made me feel
Our love would never end
How can I forget
Baby, we were the best
Suffered dreams of you all through the night
Baby I can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
I can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
I can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
Summer days and summer nights
When I felt you in my arms
Didn’t I want to badly
Wanted to let you have me
Autumn days and stormy nights
When you crushed me with your charms
Didn’t I need you madly
Now I’m lying here falling apart
I can’t seem to live without your love
Suffocating here by myself, dying for your touch
Springtime eyes that get you every time
And I just can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
And I just can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
You made me feel
Our love would never end
How can I forget
Baby, we were the best
Suffered dreams of you all through the night
I suffer dreams of you all through the night
And baby I can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
It’s Valentine’s day and I’m feeling this way
Man I really just hope I don’t kill myself
Stop all this sh*t that you talkin’
You talkin’, you talkin’ like you did find somebody else
Stop that, stop that
Girl don’t you know that it’s mine
I might just need to remind
Slide up in there from behind
Oh, you got me feelin’ some type of way
Ain’t no you without me, hope you feel the same
‘Cause if there’s no you, there’s no me, ain’t no us, ain’t no we
That just can’t be, don’t you see
Mariah, Trigga in Miami
You made me feel
Like love would never end
Tell me how can I forget that
My baby, we were the best
I suffer dreams of you all through the night
And baby I can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
I can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine
I can’t seem to give you up, you’re mine

Mariah Carey's Long-Delayed Album Has Been Cooking 'Like a Honey-Baked Ham'
In the last two years, Mariah Carey has cycled through three managers, two album release dates and four
new tracks-will her fifth be the charm? On Feb. 12, Carey unveiled the latest single from her long-delayed new album. The finger-snapping ballad “You’re Mine (Eternal)” is her fifth new song since 2009′s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, none of which has risen higher than No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. With Carey’s 14th album now slated for May 6, a lot is riding on the fate of “You’re Mine” for both Carey and her label, Island Def Jam.
How’s it doing? The track garnered a modest 245 all-format plays in its first day at radio, according to Nielsen BDS, though the IDJ strategy is to let it develop organically before a radio push begins Feb. 24. And sources at radio say the straight-ahead ballad may be the kind of return to form Carey needs. The hope is that after almost four years of work, Carey’s next record is back on track.
Songwriter/producer Bryan-Michael Cox says that work on the project began before the summer of 2010. “We started on this before Mariah got pregnant,” he says. But her difficult pregnancy and the birth of her twins in April 2011 delayed work, as did her season as a judge on “American Idol” last year, and, finally, a shoulder injury while filming the video for her single with Miguel, “#Beautiful,” last July. “Life happens, and that added to the organic process of making this album,” Cox says. “Over the past couple of years we’ve added songs, scratched songs, slow-baking this record like a honey-baked ham. And when you take a bite of that ham-people will be extremely and pleasantly surprised.”
IDJ certainly hopes so. The label’s 2013 market share of albums plus track-equivalent albums was 4.0%, according to Nielsen SoundScan, ranking it eighth among the major mainstream labels, or second-to-last ahead of Epic. Carey’s album was originally slated for release last March, then July. With IDJ’s top performing albums in 2013 coming from Kanye West (625,000 units), Fall Out Boy (598,000) and Rihanna (592,000), another release from an artist of Carey’s caliber would have boosted the label’s bottom line.
In an interview with Billboard last year, Carey hinted the album would feature a “lot more raw ballads than people might expect.” And in reuniting with producers Jermaine Dupri (who succeeded Randy Jackson and then Red Light as her manager last October) and Cox-as well as collaborating with Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Rodney Jerkins and Mike Will Made It-she said it was about “making sure I have tons of good music.”
Cox describes the album as a “mashup of what’s new, a mélange of R&B, hip-hop and pop plus the classic melodies and lyrics we know her for.” A major-market R&B/hip-hop programmer says Carey and IDJ will enjoy a “solid measure of success” if the singer returns to her roots: great midtempos and ballads. “‘Sonically, her last album wasn’t bad,” the programmer says. “But it depended too much on samples and guest appearances. There’s no sample on this new single, but again the buy-in factor to a younger, hipper audience is that she’s paired on a remix with Trey Songz to help co-sign how relative she is to new consumers who may not be aware of her previous track record of success. I’m not sure if they’re going to opt in.”
Revving up for her return, Carey and MTV teamed for the global video premiere of “You’re Mine” on Feb. 12. A day later, she was scheduled to flip the switch to light New York’s Empire State Building in red and pink for Valentine’s Day, then appeared on BET’s “106 & Park” for the network premiere of the remix video with Songz. Carey will also perform the new single on “BET Honors,” airing Feb. 24.

Mariah lights up the NYC's Empire State Building!
She just can't help herself. Never one to blend into the background, Mariah Carey tried to upstage one of
New York's most well loved landmarks on Thursday. Pouring herself into a tight white gown, the 43-year-old slinked her way through the Empire State Building.
The pop star was tasked with the very important job of turning the famous monument's specially designed lights on for Valentine's Day. Joined by three lucky couples that have been chosen to tie the knot on the year's most romantic day, it looked as though the Hero singer had her eye on another wedding to husband Nick Cannon.
Putting her trademark curves front and centre, Mariah squeezed herself into the full length, long sleeved white gown, which she wore with matching opera gloves and a fur stole around her shoulders. So tight was the dress, that every move the star made threatened to become a wardrobe malfunction, with her more than ample bust coming close to spilling out.
Flicking the switch, the mother of two - twins Moroccan and Monroe - beamed as lighting the 1,454 feet tall building has a very special meaning to the star. When husband of almost six years Nick Cannon proposed to Mariah, he used her favourite building to help him.
When the pop star made history for having the most number one hits, the Empire State recognised it by lighting the building up her favourite colour - pink - to celebrate, so Nick told Oprah Winfrey he seized the moment. He told the talk show host: "I was like, 'Okay, we need to celebrate that on the roof at the apartment,' so I had all these pink and lavender balloons."
"I opened up a Ring Pop first and then I give her one, and she was like, 'It feels like mine is broken,' I was just like, 'Let's just open it. It's a festive moment,' and she opened it and her ring was in there." If her white dress is anything to go by, perhaps Mariah is hoping to renew her vows alongside the winning couples on Valentine's Day.

You're Mine (Eternal) lyrics
Intro
Baby I didn't know
Baby I didn't know
Baby I didn't know
Mine
Mine
Mine
You're mine
Verse 1
(Available on album version, not radio edit)
Pre-chorus
I can't seem to live without your love
Suffocating here by myself dying without your touch
Springtime eyes that get you every time
And I just can't seem to give you up
You're mine
Chorus
You make me feel
Our love would never end
How can I forget
Baby we were the best
Suffered dreams of you all through the night
And baby I can't seem to give you up
You're mine
Post-chorus
I (I) can't (can't) seem to (to) give you up
You're Mine
I (I) can't (can't) seem to (to) give you up
You're Mine
Verse 2
Summer days and summer nights
When I felt you in my arms
Didn't I want you badly
Wanted to let you have me
Autumn days and stormy nights
When you crush me with your charms
Didn't I need you madly
Now I'm lying here falling apart
Pre-chorus
I can't seem to live without your love
Suffocating here by myself dying for your touch
Springtime eyes that get you every time
And I just can't seem to give you up
You're Mine
Chorus
Boy you make me feel
Our love would never end
How can I forget
Baby we were the best
I suffer dreams of you all through the night
And baby I can't seem to give you up
You're Mine
I (I) can't (can't) seem to (to) give you up
You're Mine
I (I) can't (can't) seem to (to) give you up
You're Mine
Bridge
Oh
You make me feel
Like love would never end
Tell me how can I forget that
My baby we were the best
And baby I can't seem to
Give you up
You're mine
Post-Chorus
I (I) can't (can't) seem to (to) give you up
You're Mine
I (I) can't (can't) seem to (to) give you up
You're Mine
