Mariah Carey's sister diagnosed with cancer

Mariah Carey may be gearing up to celebrate her wedding anniversary and the first birthday of her twins Monroe and Moroccan on April 30, but the diva just got some bad news splashed across the tabloids. Her estranged sister Alison Carey Scott is suffering from liver cancer, on top of other problems.
Alison, who is HIV positive and is a former drug addict, revealed the news of her tragic condition to the National Enquirer (quotes via The Boombox) during an interview outside of her Riverhead, N.Y, hotel. Alison, 50, said she is sick, "not with AIDS... liver cancer". Carey's sister clearly has a difficult medical journey ahead of her.
Carey has had a rough year so far, in terms of health issues relating to people in her life. While she worked hard to shed the baby weight after birthing two healthy twins, her husband Nick Cannon suffered from a bout with kidney failure in January, forcing him to cut back on his work schedule and amend his eating habits. It was scary time for Carey and her family.
Now the news that her sister is battling cancer on top of HIV only adds to the stress in her life, regardless of the status of their relationship.

Get Mariah Carey New Lighter Hair Color

Mariah Carey recently got back into shape after carrying twins and now has a fresh, summery hair color courtesy of a celebrity stylist who shares the secret behind Carey's lighter locks with Daily Glow.

Kyle White, lead colorist at the Oscar Blandi Salon, has worked with the mega-star for years, and achieved her sun-kissed tone for the cover of Shape.

"Mariah's usually open to making adjustments to her hair color, and often we'll go lighter or darker depending on what she has coming up," White shares, while adding that the one color Carey stays away from is red.

For this look, White started with a honey-brown base color and then added golden highlights to frame Carey's face. To achieve the illusion that the star had spent days soaking up the sun at the beach, White dipped the ends of her locks in a lighter shade. His last step was to seal in the color and add shine with a clear gloss.

Thanks to Jenny Craig, Carey's body truly looks amazing on the May issue of Shape. She wears only a cropped shirt and bikini bottoms, revealing a taut tummy. Here's more on her weight loss journey.

Mariah and Nick renew wedding vows in Paris

They do - again! Almost four years after their surprise wedding in the Bahamas, Nick Cannon got down on one knee before Mariah Carey in a reported vow renewal ceremony Friday night in Paris. With the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, Carey is seen in photos beaming in a stunning white mermaid dress with spaghetti straps and a black bow at the waist as Cannon, in a white suit and black tie, locks his eyes with hers.
The couple have much to celebrate beyond their four-year anniversary, which falls on Monday. Along with enjoying nearly 1-year-old twins, Cannon appears to be on the mend from frightening health problems, including kidney disease. After leaving the hospital in January, Cannon called Carey his "hero" and "the virtuous person who is my angel". Carey returned the compliment by telling him he was her "incredible husband" who, despite his struggles, was still "all strong and healthy and big".
The couple arrived in France by private jet around 1 a.m. Friday. During the day, Carey was spotted shopping at Baby Dior - the couple's twins turn 1 on Monday - and at the Louis Vuitton flagship store on the Champs-Elysees. Friday night, after they posed for their wedding renewal photos, the couple were spotted dining Le Jules Verne restaurant on the Eiffel Tower.

From Paris with love... again! Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon to renew vows in City of Lights

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are to renew their wedding vows in Paris this week.
The couple are to celebrate four years of marriage at a romantic hotel with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop on Friday evening.
While they surprised fans by tying the knot in an intimate ceremony back in 2008, Mariah and Nick have opted for a far more public celebration this time round, inviting the press to capture the romantic moment.

They had known each other for only a month after meeting on the set of her music video, and have defied critics with their lasting and clearly devoted relationship.
At the time, the Heartbreaker singer said: 'We really do feel we are soulmates. I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me.'

Their twins Moroccan and Monroe were born on their third wedding anniversary last year.
So with the babies turning one on Monday, the extravagant family are set for a double celebration.
Nick said they had something special planned while speaking told People magazine last week. 'We're taking a break,' he said. 'It's going to be exciting. We're doing something special and something unique.'
It has been a trying few months for the couple, with Nick suffering kidney failure earlier this year.

The Essential Mariah Carey celebrates her first decade

Mariah Carey's first decade of record-setting hit singles, remixes and fan-favorite album tracks are collected on The Essential Mariah Carey. The 28 tracks on this double CD laid the foundation for five-time Grammy Award-winner Mariah's reign as the top-selling female recording artist in history with over 200 million albums, singles and videos sold worldwide.
The Essential Mariah Carey, which is an update of 2001's Greatest Hits with four different tracks, will be available everywhere starting May 8th through Columbia Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. "I wanted to create a collection of some of my favorite songs," explains Mariah. "Several of them are very big hits and some are more obscure favorites of mine as well as fan faves."
At the core of this set is the extraordinary run of early RIAA gold, platinum and multi-platinum Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit singles that kept her phenomenal vocal artistry at the forefront of pop music consciousness for that first decade. Fourteen of those chart-toppers are included. Mariah Carey completists will appreciate that this Essential contains four tracks newly chosen by Mariah herself for the occasion:

1. "Vanishing", Mariah's debut as a producer, from her self-titled debut album
2. "Close My Eyes", a confessional track from the Butterfly album, evoking her new freedom as a single woman in 1997
3. "The Roof (Mobb Deep Extended Version)", also from Butterfly, Mariah's first track with the songwriting-production duo Poke & Tone, aka the Trackmasters (Jean Claude Oliver and Samuel Barnes)
4. "Bliss", from her next album, 1998's Rainbow, one of six tracks on that album that were co-written and co-produced by Mariah with the Flyte Tyme Productions team of Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Big Jim Wright

In addition, Mariah has included two rare alternate remixes on this Essential collection, both on disc one. "Emotions (12-inch Club Mix)", from 1991, the title track of Mariah's second studio album, is a remix of her record-setting fifth consecutive #1 hit single. "Anytime You Need A Friend (C+C Club Remix)", from her third studio album, 1993's Music Box, was remixed by her friends Robert Clivilles and David Cole of fellow Columbia Records group C+C Music Factory, who played such a crucial role as writers and producers on Mariah's early studio albums.
Mariah Carey's Cinderella storybook signing to Columbia Records in 1990 is entwined with the magic of that decade. At the very outset, she accomplished what no other pop artist had done in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, sending her first five consecutive singles to the #1 spot. Indeed, eight of her first ten singles hit the #1 spot between 1990 and 1993, and the decade would see Mariah place 15 hits at the top of the Hot 100 through 1999.
In 2005, Mariah earned her 17th #1 career single ("Don't Forget About Us"), tying one of the most enduring chart records in Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's. Three years later, Mariah surpassed Elvis with her 18th #1 Hot 100 hit ("Touch My Body"). Mariah is currently positioned as the only active recording artist in the 54 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits.

Mariah Carey tour and rehearsals?

Mariah Carey has indicated that she is preparing for a concert tour by sharing that she was in rehearsals, but has not divulged any further information. "At rehearsals, having a good time, can't wait to see you," wrote Carey on her Twitter account Sunday.
The Grammy Award winner's hint has fans in a frenzy as they speculate when a tour could begin. Carey's legions of followers are more than willing to pay top dollar to see the singer perform live, but Carey's message may just be a tease.
Although Carey has not provided any details about an upcoming tour, the singer keeps her fans informed about work on a new album. "In the studio, recording with Randy Jackson, Loris Holland and some truly amazing musicians," posted Carey on Friday. "Can't wait untill you hear it."
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old "We Belong Together" singer has made headlines with her recent weight loss. Carey has revealed her new body on the cover of Shape magazine this month, as well as the secret to her success. "I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet," said the singer speaking to Shape. "Today my workout routine is more about getting and staying toned, and for me, that means either taking hour-long walks a few times a week or jumping in the pool three or four days a week to do 45-minutes of aquatic exercise."
Carey promotes the Jenny Craig plan which has helped her lose weight gained during her pregnancy with twins Morocco and Monroe, which she shares with husband Nick Cannon. After opening up about her weight loss, Carey also discussed Cannon's recent health scare. The 31-year-old was hospitalized for kidney failure as well as a lupus-like autoimmune disease, but has recovered.
"It was really frightening," said Carey. "He's feeling much stronger. He's taking better care of himself, eating a diet low in sodium and sugar, and getting more sleep."

Nick Cannon: We’re Doing Something ‘Special’ For Twins’ Birthday

My, how time flies. It seems like just yesterday that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were rejoicing over the arrival of #dembabies — and now, with twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe’s first birthday just over a week away, the power couple is celebrating once again.

“It’s amazing. It goes by so fast.” Cannon, 31, told reporters at NBCUniversal’s Press Day Wednesday at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, Calif. Cannon is staying mum on specific details surrounding the momentous occasion on April 30, but he does promise that the day will be one to remember. “We’re going away,” he tells PEOPLE.

“We’re taking a break. It’s going to be exciting. We’re doing something special and something unique.” In only a year’s time, Cannon and Carey, 43, have already witnessed many milestones associated with their children. “They’re trying to walk and I’m nervous because they’re at that age when anything can happen,” the America’s Got Talent host explains. “My son has this thing where he loves banging his head and crushing stuff. Something new is happening every day.”

And Cannon has something else to celebrate — having his health back! — following his January hospitalization and diagnosis of a Lupus-like autoimmune disease. “I feel better than I’ve ever been. I’m in the best shape that I’ve ever been in,” he says. “Since this whole thing has happened, I haven’t had any salt, red meat, fast food. [I've only had] chicken and fish. I feel so great. I’m juicing a lot.”

Mariah Carey welcomes Leah LaBelle to NYC

Pharrell and Jermaine Dupri hosted a coming out party to welcome their new artist Leah LaBelle to New York City last night. Mariah Carey and L.A. Reid showed their support for the Seattle singer, who will release her debut album on I Am Other/So So Def/Epic Records.
Guests dined on crispy rice cakes and herb roasted branzino at seafood restaurant Catch, while catching up with the Season 3 "American Idol" contestant. "An epic moment at my dinner tonight," tweeted Leah, whose debut single "Sexify" was produced by Pharrell. "I can’t even express my joy."

Mariah Carey finds a favorite new N.Y.C. breakfast spot

Mariah Carey stepped out for brunch with a big group of friends at Cafeteria in New York's Chelsea neighborhood. The singer, and mom of two, dug into an omelet with spinach, caramelized onions and goat cheese - and she sipped mimosas during her leisurely afternoon meal.
"They pulled up in a black Bentley and made quite a stir," a source tells People. And the food must have been good - because the next day, Carey stopped into the 24-hour diner again for round two - this time at 6 a.m. wearing leggings, heels and a T-shirt with a screen-printed image of Marilyn Monroe. For breakfast this go-around? A bagel with lox, a catfish fry and orange juice.

New album soon from Carey?

Mariah Carey is gearing up for a major music comeback after announcing plans to release a new album later this year. The singer's 12th studio album, Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel, was released in September 2009, and now, after giving birth to twins Monroe and Morocco, and sticking by her ailing husband Nick Cannon's side as he battled a slew of medical problems at the beginning of 2012, she's finally getting back into the studio.
Carey tells Shape magazine, "I've started writing songs for a new album, which I hope will come out in 2012. Getting back in the studio and making music again - which I truly love doing - is the best way to end this crazy year."

Here is the full magazine (pdf)

Unlike some new moms, Mariah Carey is more than happy to show off her post-baby body. The songstress, who gave birth to twins nearly one year ago, flaunts her abs on the May issue of Shape and reveals some of the weight-loss secrets that helped her shed 30 pounds in just six months.

While pregnant with Moroccan and Monroe, “I put on around 70 pounds,” Carey, 42, tells the magazine. “But if you look at photos of me when I was pregnant, you’d say, ‘Wow, she gained 9,000 pounds!’ A lot of it was water weight because I pretty much had head-to-toe edema, which is very painful. Luckily, all the swelling went away fairly quickly after the babies were born. Then I had about 30 more pounds to drop. I have such empathy for people who need to lose a lot of weight, because I know what they’re going through. I remember thinking at the time, ‘I’ll never look or feel the same again.’”

Carey — who poses for the magazine cover in a bikini bottom and striped, off-the-shoulder top — selected Jenny Craig to help lose the rest of the weight because she liked the way their program, which she started last July, is structured. (She’s a big fan of the brand’s meals, especially the soups, but prepares a lot of her own food at home.) In November, it was announced she had become the company’s brand ambassador and her first commercial aired in December. “I used to be able to slim down just by exercising more, but that’s changed,” she says. “Since having the babies, I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet.”

The singer, who says her weight has fluctuated 15 to 20 pounds over the years, still fits in her exercise time though. “Today my workout routine is more about getting and staying toned,” she tells the mag. “And for me, that means either taking hour-long walks a few times a week or jumping in the pool three or four days a week to do 45 minutes of aquatic exercises… Swimming is my favorite form of exercise.”

As for her exact weight, similar to Nutrisystem spokesperson Janet Jackson, Carey isn’t telling. Last fall she explained to USA Today that she doesn’t go by a scale — instead the 5’9″ star measures by her “dress size. Right now I am between a 4 or 6.”

The megastar isn’t the only member of her household who has undergone a diet overhaul recently. Carey tells people that her 31-year-old husband, Nick Cannon, has revamped his life since he was hospitalized for kidney failure in January and then again in February with blood clots related to his autoimmune disease, lupus nephritus. “It was really frightening,” Carey says of the incident, “but he’s feeling much stronger and is definitely on the right track. “He’s taking better care of himself, eating a diet low in sodium and sugar, and getting more sleep.”

As for her own sleep patterns, Carey says having twins makes it a little more difficult, but she rolls with it. “My schedule has always been the opposite of most people’s. I sleep during the day and wake up at 10 at night, which is why I’ve been able to adapt to the babies’ schedule so well. I’m actually sitting here debating whether I should do a 10 p.m. or a 4 a.m. workout today. If I exercise in the morning, I’ll be able to purée some pears and feed them breakfast.”

Between the babies and her new diet and fitness plan, she’s juggling a lot, but fans of her music will be happy to hear that she’s made time for recording. “I’ve started writing songs for a new album, which I hope will come out in 2012,” she says. “Getting back in the studio and making music again — which I truly love doing — is the best way to end this crazy year.”

Pop stars take a stand against bullying

Jamey Rodemeyer

In the last year, a national spotlight has been placed on the sensitive issue of bullying, so it's no wonder pop stars need to remind us we were born this way, that we're a firework, and who says we're not perfect? Over the past few weeks, dozens of artists - including Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Ke$ha and Jasmine V - have taken a stand against bullying by retweeting the same message: "13 million kids get bullied every year. Today take a stand with me," following their plea with a link to the official site of the new documentary Bully. The documentary, released by The Weinstein Company, sheds light into the pained and endangered lives of bullied kids, and the effect it has on them and their families.
The film was originally given an R-rating by the MPAA, meaning that no one under the age of 17 could see the film unless they were accompanied by a parent or guardian. This would greatly prohibit teens and pre-teens - the people who deal with bullying on a daily basis - from seeing the film. However, following an online campaign, the Weinstein Company managed to convince the MPAA to lower the rating to the less restrictive PG-13 rating after taking out a few utterances of the F-word. The film was released in select markets on March 30, but will be in theaters everywhere April 13.

Kris Allen chats about "The Vision Of Love"

Fans of American Idol winner Kris Allen have been waiting patiently, since his self-titled debut album came out in 2009 and rose up the charts with his hit "Live Like We're Dying", to get their hands on his follow-up album. That time is almost here, as Kris' second album Thank You Camellia will finally hit stores on May 22, and the first single off the album "The Vision Of Love" and its video recently hit iTunes.
OK! sat down with Kris to talk about the album, the video, whether the name of his single reminded too many people of Mariah Carey and whether he could see one of his songs ending up on a Hunger Games soundtrack.

How do you feel about the title of the song being close to a Mariah Carey song?
I wanted to change the title so bad! I was like, "Can we call it something else?" That was the very first thing that I thought of. I was like, "Mariah Carey has a song like this." I mean, it's not a ballad. It's a totally different thing. We put a "the" on the front of it so maybe it's a bit different.

Monica says she'd love to duet with Mariah Carey

Last night, Monica stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen for a fun interview, but after the show is where the real fun began. Monica talked about recording "The Boy Is Mine" and the beef between she and Brandy, being a role model in today's world and more.
Monica was also asked by a fan if she'd duet with queen Mariah Carey and said, "Well I'll give my yes now, and then you find her and ask her and I will go where she is." Monica went on to say, "She is phenomenal and her range is unbelievable."
Would the Doves and Lambs like a duet between the two? I don't know if their voices would blend well, but I wouldn't mind a collaboration. After all, Mimi can get hood when she needs to. Let us never forget the glory that is "Heat".

Mariah "devastated" twins may have autoimmune disease

"Mariah Carey twins in danger" screams another alarmist headline from the National Enquirer. According to the tab, Carey is "devastated" because her 11-month-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, may have her husband Nick Cannon's autoimmune disease.
As you'll recall, Cannon was hospitalized in January and again in February for kidney failure and blood clots. Now, says the Enquirer, Carey is "terrified that one or both of the twins will be stricken with the disease". The mag quotes a so-called "source" as saying, "Mariah's world would shatter if anything happened to her babies."
And while that's understandable, the story is untrue. Carey's rep tells Gossip Cop the Enquirer's claims are "ridiculous", adding that the babies are "gorgeous and healthy".

Mariah Carey still has more No. 1 singles than Elvis

Four years ago this week, Mariah Carey made music history by scoring the 18th No. 1 single of her career. Think about that for a second: If you're reading this, Mariah Carey has recorded more No. 1 singles than women you've had sex with (a lot more). What makes the feat even more incredible is that she beat the record for a solo artist set by a true pop music titan - the King of rock and roll himself, Elvis Presley.
Well, probably, anyway. Elvis recorded a bunch of early singles before the Billboard "Hot 100" era, and most of them were double-sided 45s that contained two smash hits. Some hardcore fans argue hard that Elvis only had 14 No. 1s, some say 17 and some say 18, depending on the friendless loser you're arguing with. Simply put, it was a different time, one that's hard to compare to Mariah's heyday. Still, though: 18. That ain't bad. As far as the Associated Press was concerned, the Diva took down the King. Or did she?
Is there really any non-hilarious comparison to be made between the careers of these two top hitmakers? In 1956, Elvis drastically changed the course of popular culture all over the world. In 1994, Mariah drastically changed her hairstyle. Can it be seriously argued that Ms. Mimi is the bigger, better chart-topper?
Let's find out, shall we? We won't try to match up every hit each artist had - that would be stupid, and we ain't got that kind of time. Instead, let's just compare the highlights to find out which hitmaker really reigns supreme.

Their First Time - "Vision of Love" vs. "Heartbreak Hotel"
A comparison between the two artists' first No. 1 hits is pretty much a slam-dunk win for the King. Not that "Vision of Love" was a bad introduction for Mariah, mind - a smash-hit chart-topper on your first try out of the gate is pretty awesome. "Vision" featured everything that people love about her: A smooth R&B beat, her inhuman range and spandex clothes in the video.
But come on. Without "Heartbreak Hotel", "Vision of Love" would have never existed and Mariah would have never made it out of church. Singers are still getting laid by covering this song more than 50 years after it hit No. 1. "Heartbreak Hotel" sits at the head table at reunions of classic rock and roll records, and it's as well-known in Shanghai, China, as Memphis, Tennessee. Tally one for the King, and let's move on. Score: Mariah 0, Elvis 1

The Comebacks - "We Belong Together" vs. "Suspicious Minds"
This matchup is more interesting. Both artists' careers stretch over decades, and they weren't always on top. In 2005, Mariah looked like she might be done after her movie megaflop Glitter and a bout of debilitating "exhaustion". Behind the Music was licking its chops.
But psyche! "We Belong Together" became her first No. 1 single in five years and spent 14 weeks at the top of the chart, netting her two Grammys. It was one of the biggest smashes of her career, a great song featuring superlative emoting that's ideal for singing along to on the radio.
"Suspicious Minds" was... a good Elvis song. Sure, it was a major milestone in his career. It was his first No. 1 in seven years, sealing his comeback from Hollywood hell. But it only spent one lousy week at the top of the charts, and it's got none of the paradigm-shifting spark of his early tunes. I'm giving this one to Mariah. Score: Mariah 1, Elvis 1

The Record Setters - "Touch My Body" vs. "Burning Love"
Here's where things get a tad controversial. "Burning Love" peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100, but it went No. 1 on Cashbox's Top 40 Charts in 1972, and to a lot of Elvis diehards, that totally counts, bringing his tally to 18. For the sake of argument, I'm inclined to give it to him. "Burning Love" was the King's biggest hit of the '70s, and it's a rockin' tune that sums up that era of his career nicely.
Like "Burning Love," "Touch My Body" is a sexually charged love song, both artists' shared forte. The 18th chart-topper from each features the singers at a point in their careers that's probably past their prime, but still powerful. It's a close one, but "Burning Love" gets the nod. Score: Mariah 1, Elvis 2

Sexy Time - "Honey" vs. "A Big Hunk O' Love"
Now we're talkin'. Sexuality is a major part of both Elvis' and Mariah's appeal. Elvis was so hot in the '50s that TV shows only filmed him from the waist up. "A Big Hunk O' Love" went No. 1 in 1959, and it was Elvis at his hip-swiveling best. You can almost hear the still-echoing screams from teenage girls as he sings lyrics like "You're just a natural born beehive/ Filled with honey to the top/ Well, I ain't greedy baby/ All I want is all you got."
But for teenage boys watching MTV in 1997, "Honey" kicked the dogcrap out of Elvis. After playing the good girl for the early years of her career, this song was a true eruption for Mariah, showcasing a sexier, more street edge to her image and sound. Her voice practically drips from the speakers, and the music video was unforgettable. Elvis may have had the moves, but he's never inspired much grinding in the club; at least not in my lifetime. Marry me, Mariah! Score: Mariah 2, Elvis 2

The Big One - "One Sweet Day" vs. "All Shook Up"
It all comes down to this: The biggest hits of each artist's career. There's no fairer way to judge a hitmaker than by the hugest, chart-topping smash they ever produced, right? For Mariah Carey, that distinction falls to "One Sweet Day", her inescapable collabo with Boyz II Men that spent a record 16 weeks atop the Hot 100. Somewhere, this song is being played right now as the first dance at some wedding you weren't invited to, even though it's about dead people.
Elvis didn't need any help to achieve the longest-charting No. 1 of his career. "All Shook Up" spent a ridiculous 30 weeks in the Top 100 and eight at the top. It also happened to become one of the most iconic songs in pop music history, a feat "One Sweet Day" could never come close to matching. Mariah and the Boyz sang their hearts out, but their combined melisma can't touch the power in Elvis' humming alone in this song. Elvis wins, folks. Duh. Final Score: Mariah 2, Elvis 3

So, despite her 18 No. 1s, turns out Mariah Carey is no Elvis Presley. But then again, nobody else is, either. There can only be one King of rock and roll. Not quite known for her modesty, Mariah even admitted it herself four years ago when she smashed his record.
"I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world," she told The Associated Press. "That's a completely different era and time ... I'm just feeling really happy and grateful."
Well said, Ms. Carey. No need to hang your head. You've got more No. 1 singles under your belt than any of your contemporaries dare dream of. So what if they didn't help spawn an entire new youth movement? You've more than earned your place in the music-history books. And hey, two more No. 1 singles and you tie the Beatles! Don't stop now.

Nick Cannon documents his health battle

Nick Cannon is gradually coming to terms with his health issues, including kidney disease, and he's hoping to help educate other people who are dealing with similar conditions. On Monday, Cannon, 31, premiered the first episode of a new online documentary-style series called the NCredible Health Hustle on his website. The weekly series will document Cannon's medical issues, which first came to light when he was hospitalized for kidney failure in January.
"A few days ago, I was with my family in the snow, playing, having a good time," Cannon narrates in the first video, over footage of his wife Mariah Carey holding one of the couple's nearly 1-year-old twins. "All of a sudden, I started swelling up, having shortness of breath, excruciating pain in my right side. I wake up in the hospital, a bunch of doctors telling me I've got kidney failure."
Later in the clip, Cannon is seen getting an IV and learning of his doctor's diagnosis. In February, Cannon was forced to step down from his radio show due to ongoing concerns about his physical well-being.
Future episodes of the series will document Cannon's modifications to his diet and exercise routine, as well as visits to his doctor, as part of his struggle to get back on track health-wise. "I thank all of you for the continuous messages, and want you to know it inspires me to keep pushing," he writes online. "Hoping this series serves as inspiration for anyone dealing with kidney disease, lupus or any illness to keep pushing as well."

Mariah and Nick's plans for twins' first birthday

Leave it to Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon to throw their twins a first birthday party for family and friends to remember - even if dem babies won't. While Carey and Cannon are remaining a bit tight-lipped on details, I was able to get the America's Got Talent host to spill a big hint...
"It's up in the air right now but it's probably not going to be in the States," he said at the Kids' Choice Awards. "We are going to take it overseas." When I suggested a party at the Eiffel Tower, Cannon smiled a very big smile. "You're good," he said. "You're good."
The twins, Monroe and Moroccan, turn 1 on April 30, also Carey and Cannon's fourth wedding anniversary. They reportedly renewed their wedding vows recently for the second time.
Cannon also has other babies on his mind - Four Count, a boy band he signed last year to his Ncredible Entertainment music label. "I remember a few years ago walking Justin Bieber down this carpet and no one knew who he was," Cannon said. "But I knew he was going to be the next big sensation and I feel the same way about Four Count." Maybe they'll perform at the birthday party.
P.S. I'm happy to report that Cannon is in good health. He said, "I'm doing great. I feel great."
